Rastelli Market FAQ's
  • + Where does Rastelli Black Angus Beef come from?
  • - Our USDA source verified Black Angus Cattle are domestically raised and harvested in Northern Texas and South Dakota. Located in areas chosen for both their favorable conditions and the expertise of our American farming partners, our ranch and harvest facilities are some of the most efficient and humane practices in the United States. Rastelli has over 100,000 head of cattle. We offer USDA Prime, Upper 2/3 Choice Wet Aged and Upper 2/3 Choice Dry Aged Black Angus Beef.
  • + What is the difference between Dry Aged and Wet Aged Beef
  • - All Rastelli Beef is Wet-Aged for a minimum of 21 days to enhance the flavor and texture of the product. Dry Aged beef is a continuation of our aging process during which beef cuts are moved to a dedicated dry aging room for a minimum of 28 days. Every cut of Black Angus Dry Aged Steak features a beautiful color, nuttiness, and depth of flavor resulting from our time-honored aging process.
  • + What other Beef Categories do you offer?
  • - In addition to our extensive Black Angus selection, we offer Wagyu Kobe Beef as well as Organic Grass Fed Beef. Our Wagyu Kobe Beef is known for its incredible tenderness, beautiful marbling and exceptional flavor. Pasture-raised on a traditional Japanese diet of natural corn, alfalfa, barley and wheat straw, our Kobe Beef is predisposed to higher levels of healthy omega 3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

Our USDA Certified Organic Grass-Fed Beef comes from cattle that are all domestically raised in the US. Our cattle are raised on organic pastures, never receive antibiotics or growth promoting hormones and are fed a diet of grass and organic feed. Humanely raised in open pastures, we ensure that you are getting the most pure and delicious Organic Beef available.
  • + What grades of beef do you offer through RastelliMarket.com?
  • - Rastelli Market offers USDA Prime and USDA Upper 2/3 Choice grades of beef. These are the two highest grades of USDA certified beef available. Your traditional grocer will normally offer Select or Choice grades of beef.

Beef is graded by the USDA. The grading is a designation that indicates quality, marbling, age and yield of meat. The basic grading scale from most desirable to least desirable is: Prime, Upper Choice (Upper 2/3 Choice), Choice, Select and No Roll/Ungraded.
  • +Does Rastelli Foods Group raise their own animals?
  • - Yes, in many instances Rastelli Foods Group does raise their own animals. Through ownership and proprietary partnerships with farmers and ranchers we are able to control how the animals are raised, what they are being fed, and also how they are treated.
  • + What are your feed standards when raising animals?
  • - We do not feed our beef, poultry, lamb, pork and veal anything that would not be safe for us to consume as well. The result of our strict breeding and feeding practices is that our choice grade will perform like a prime grade, and our prime grade will outperform anyone else’s prime grade.

Predominantly all of our meats are non-GMO, free-range and grass-fed. Additionally, our Kobe, Prime and Upper 2/3 Choice Black Angus beef enjoy all-natural grain and corn diets to enhance taste and marbling.

Our hormone, antibiotic, and growth stimulant free All-Natural Chicken is raised on free range farms and fed an all natural all-grain diet. More specifically our poultry is raised by artisan farmers, not factory farms.
  • + Is your seafood farm raised or wild caught?
  • - We offer wild caught and sustainable seafood options.

Our wild caught seafood is naturally organic, and caught by experienced fishermen who are committed to humane fishing practices. Rastelli Seafood is located off the Atlantic Coast between two of the largest and most diverse fishing ports on the Eastern Seaboard. Our wild caught fish is immediately flash frozen, before being transported to our FDA-inspected, HACCP-certified facility.

Our sustainable seafood is raised in free flowing water, often times in the same environment as their wild caught counterparts. Rastelli Aquaculture seafood is BAP-certified, and makes less of an impact on the environment when compared to commercial harvesting of wild caught species. Furthermore, we inspect each and every operation to ensure that our partners raise our seafood in accordance to our high standards, as well as the international standards set forth by the FDA and BAP organizations.
  • + How is the product packaged? How will the product come?
