All Natural, Free Range Goose
Item #: 1674
Goose is the traditional meal for Christmas Eve or Christmas Lunch in many societies around the world. With its full succulent flavor, a goose should not be reserved just for Christmas, but can be the centerpiece to a festive meal year-round! Naturally raised in South Dakota, our geese are free-ranged, anti-biotic-free and fed only wholesome grains and spring water. Each goose is 8-10lbs.
Please note: These high quality fresh geese will be delivered to you in a frozen uncooked state. They will require full cooking before consuming.
Thaw in refrigerator for 1-1 1/2 days or in cool water for 4-6 hours. Preheat over to 350 degrees. Remove neck and giblets from body cavity, cook for stuffing or refrigerate until ready to use. Rinse bird and drain. Prick entire goose several times with a fork. To stuff, fill neck and body cavity loosely. Cover bottom of roaster pan with water. Place goose, breast side up, on a rack in roasting pan, insert meat thermometer deep into inside thigh muscle. Cover with a roaster pan lid or foil. Continue roasting until meat thermometer registers 180-185 degrees F. Allow about 25-30 minutes per pound for stuffed goose and 18-22 minutes per pound for an unstuffed goose. Allow goose to cool slightly and carve. Enjoy!
